Two Jacksonville-area authors — one a veteran writer with more than 40 books published, the other a debut novelist — won gold medals from the Florida Book Awards. Jennifer Swanson won a gold medal for her children's book, "Footprints Across the Planet," and Kate Stollenwerck of Ponte Vedra Beach won gold in the Young Adult category for "Hello, Goodbye." The awards , coordinated by the Florida State University Libraries, were announced this week. Winners will be presented with their awards April 20 at a banquet in Tallahassee.
