A series of proposals are moving in the Florida Senate targeting transgender people. If passed, they would essentially ban what's known as 'gender-affirming care' for minors in Florida. Among other things, a bill that passed its first committee this week would make it a felony for health care professionals to order puberty blockers, hormone treatment or surgery for minors.
